Squirrel Removal in Media, PA
Squirrels in the roofline, attic and walls.

What you are dealing with
What you can see is usually part of it.
Squirrels chew. A gap the width of a thumb at the corner of a roof is enough, and they will make it bigger. They are busy early in the morning and again before dark.
They usually get in along the roofline: the corners where two roof lines meet, gable vents, and gaps behind gutters. Trees touching the roof make it easy for them.
Any of these help us work out what is in there.
- Scurrying in the ceiling in the morning or late afternoon
- Chew marks on fascia boards or vent covers
- Squirrels running along the gutters to one spot
- Nesting material or leaves in the attic
- A small round hole at a roof corner
The scope
What we look at, and what the job usually involves.
What we inspect
- Roof corners and where two roof lines meet
- Gable vents and ridge vents
- The gap behind the gutters
- Branches within jumping distance of the roof
What the work may include
- Finding every hole along the roofline
- Trapping or a one-way door, whichever suits the spot
- Checking for a nest of young
- Closing the holes with metal mesh or flashing
What happens next
How the job runs.
Walk the whole roofline
We look along every edge, not just the hole you found, because squirrels usually have more than one.
Get them out
We trap them or fit a one-way door over the main hole so they can leave but not come back.
Seal every opening
When they are out we close each gap with metal they cannot chew through.
Price and timing
What changes the price.
Squirrels come and go in daylight, so we can usually see where they are getting in on the first visit. Clearing them out can take a few days.
- How many holes they are using
- How steep and high the roof is
- Whether a nest of young is in the attic
- How much chewed wood needs covering
Questions people ask
What to know about squirrel removal.
Is it squirrels or something bigger?
Light, quick running in the morning and late afternoon usually means squirrels. Heavy thumping at night is more often a raccoon.
Can squirrels damage wiring?
Yes, they chew wiring. If you see chewed wires, have an electrician look at them.
Will trimming my trees help?
Yes. Branches touching the roof give them a bridge. Cutting them back makes it harder for squirrels to return.
